I built a Lego catapult that is capable to wind itself after pressing a lever. When the catapult is fully wound it automatically disconnects the motor from the winding gear using a gearbox and stops the motor.
Meanwhile the winding mechanism is held in place by a stick that stops the gear attached to the winding axle from rotating backwards so it doesn't unwind until the release is pressed.

What can you watch after Ultimate weapons: Sniper rifles?
After you watched Ultimate weapons: Sniper rifles on Discovery it is time to go to bed because there is nothing on TV that could beat that, in fact I will finish this post and go to sleep. Maybe start a TV set after a year has passed when they might start topping this episode of Ultimate weapons.
Regardless of what they declare the winner (watch it to find out yourselves) my favorite is the Barrett M107
Some details taken from here:
Action: Recoil Operated; Rotating Bolt
Cartridge: .50 BMG (12.7x99mm NATO)
Feed System: 10-round detachable box magazine
Muzzle Velocity: 853m/sec
Effective Range: 1,850m
Sights: Adjustable Rear; Fixed Front; MIL-STD-1913 Accessories Rail
Dimensions:
Overall Length: 1,450mm
Barrel Length: 508mm
Empty Weight: 13.6kg
And an additional nice thing is that a muzzle can be attached without the need to modify the barrel.
